Most who read my blog probably already know that i am a pacifist and do not believe that the death penalty is an acceptable practice for Christians to participate in. I would like to encourage everybody to take an active role in studying both sides of the argument. Here is a brief post by Michael Patton on why he believes D.P. is legit. He tries to be fair and present the other side of the argument but fails miserably at doing so.

Hey Brother William! Just out of curiosity, is there a Biblical argument against Capital Punishment?
I believe there is. That is I believe that for Christians there is a Biblical argument against CP, but I don't believe this applies to non-christians.
This is actually something I have been wanting to write about for awhile now but have been short of time. Give me just a wee bit of time and I will post a boat load of stuff on the subject.
I'll look forward to reading your remarks. I doubt it will be of any surprise to you to know that I am in favor of capital punishment (if it is a surprise, well...SURPRISE!). However, in the last few years I have begun to re-evaluate my position, so I am now only marginally pro-death penalty. Perhaps you can nudge me over the edge.
